Taylor Swift has never shared a birth time. Taylor was born on 13 December 1989 in West Reading, Pennsylvania, and that date alone settles a lot: a Sagittarius Sun, a Gemini or Cancer Moon (the Moon crossed into Cancer at about 2:48 in the morning), and Mercury, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune grouped together in Capricorn.
Three birth times for Taylor Swift get passed around online, and none of them comes from Taylor Swift or the family. The most common, 8:36 am, appears on a fan Facebook page and in Sarah Oliver's fan book "Inside Taylor Nation". That fan post names Brampton Civic Hospital, which is in Ontario, so it can't be right as it stands. Astro-Databank and Astrotheme both rate it DD, their grade for unverified or conflicting data.
The second, 5:17 am, comes from Jill Parker's 2015 book "TAY", which gives no source. Astro-Databank traces it to a fan site where a fan was listing facts about themselves, and the UK astrology journal Stellar put it forward again in November 2024. The third, 8:46 pm, rests on a French site's claim of a tweet that Astro-Databank thinks is likely fake. Fans wanting the full picture is a lovely thing; these numbers just haven't earned it yet.
The Sun in Sagittarius is the sign of the traveller and the teller of tales: frank, generous, hopeful, and always reaching for the wider view. Four planets in Capricorn give that hope a frame. Mercury there thinks in plans and finished work, and its close meeting with Neptune lets practical words carry real imagination. Saturn beside Neptune adds patience for building something that lasts.
Venus sits at the very start of Aquarius, which suits a warmth that runs to friends and to a big, loyal community. Mars in Scorpio brings a focused, private determination that sees things through. For nearly the whole day the Moon is in Cancer, close to Jupiter: a big heart, a long memory and a deep love of home. Before about 2:48 am it is in Gemini instead, quick, curious and full of words.
An exact hour would reveal the rising sign and the twelve houses, which show where each planet's energy plays out. Each rumoured time gives a different answer. 8:36 am would put the rising sign in Capricorn, 5:17 am would put it in Scorpio, and 8:46 pm would put it in Leo. All three fall after 2:48 am, so each would give the Cancer Moon. Until a time comes from a real record, all of these stay possibilities.
