Every full moon and new moon from this month through next year, with the exact moment each happens, shown in your own time zone, and the zodiac sign the Moon is in. Add one to your calendar, or subscribe and every full moon arrives by itself. The times come from the same ephemeris we use for birth charts.
The names in the calendar come from the North American almanac tradition, one for each month: the Wolf Moon in January, Snow, Worm, Pink, Flower, Strawberry, Buck, Sturgeon, Corn, Hunter's, Beaver and Cold. Two have special rules. The Harvest Moon is the full moon closest to the September equinox, so it can fall in September or October, and the full moon after it is the Hunter's Moon.
A Blue Moon, in the sense most people use now, is the second full moon in a calendar month. It happens because the Moon's cycle is about 29 and a half days, a little shorter than most months. The last one was on 31 May 2026, and the next falls on 31 December 2028.
Full moons and new moons in astrology
A new moon is the Sun and Moon together in the same sign: a start, traditionally a time for setting intentions. A full moon is the Moon directly opposite the Sun, so the Moon's sign is always the one across the zodiac from the Sun's. It's read as a peak, a time when things come to light or come to a head.
Where each one falls in your own chart, by house, shows which part of your life it touches. That needs your birth time, and your whole chart shows it. If you were born near one, see your birth moon phase.
Questions
How do I add the full moons to my calendar?
Tap Subscribe and pick your calendar. Apple Calendar on an iPhone or Mac opens it straight away, and Google Calendar and Outlook open their own page to add it. Your calendar checks back every week or so, so the moons keep coming year after year. Tick "Include new moons" if you want those too.
Why does the time change when I load the page?
The calendar starts in Universal Time and switches to your own time zone once the page loads, so the date you see is the one where you are.
Why is the Moon drawn the other way round?
From the Southern Hemisphere the Moon looks flipped, so a waxing moon is lit on the left instead of the right. Switch the year of moons to South to see it the way it looks from Australia, New Zealand, South Africa or South America.
How many full moons are there in a year?
Usually twelve. About every two and a half to three years there are thirteen, and the extra one is a Blue Moon.
What sign is the full moon in?
Always the sign opposite the Sun's. A full moon in late October, with the Sun in Scorpio, is in Taurus.
