Why Venus is always close to your Sun

Venus orbits inside the Earth's orbit, so from here it never strays far from the Sun: at most about 47 degrees. That means your Venus sign is always your sun sign or one of the two signs either side of it. A Leo can have Venus in Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo or Libra, but never in Scorpio.

It also means you can't guess your Venus sign from your sun sign. Venus usually spends four or five weeks in a sign, then every nineteen months or so it turns retrograde and lingers in one sign for around four months. In those years a lot of people share the same Venus.

What Venus shows

Venus is the part of you that enjoys things. It's your taste in people, but also in music, clothes and rooms. It's how you flirt and how you make up after a fight, what you spend money on for pleasure, and what makes you feel cherished rather than just loved.
