SZA has never shared an exact birth time, though SZA has shared a good deal of the chart. SZA was born on 8 November 1989 in St. Louis, Missouri, and that day gives a Scorpio Sun and a Pisces Moon, with Mercury and Mars in Scorpio as well. That is exactly what SZA has tweeted. The Moon stayed in Pisces from midnight to midnight, so every one of those placements holds at any hour.
SZA's own posts are the firmest ground here, and the chart agrees with each of them. One tweet reads "Scorpio sun widda Pisces moon". Another reads "mars sun and mercury ALL in scorpio". Worked out for 8 November 1989, the Sun, Mercury and Mars all sit in Scorpio and the Moon is in Pisces all day, so both posts check out.
The birth time has a different story. In January 2019 the astrologer Jaadee posted a chart for 12:17 pm, saying it was shared with SZA's permission. The site Snobette reported it, and the original post has since been deleted. Astro-Databank and Astrotheme both rate the time A, the grade for a time that comes from the person or someone close. It is the strongest lead there is, but it reached the public through an astrologer rather than from SZA directly.
Even with no hour at all, this chart is rich in water and earth. The Sun, Mercury and Pluto sit within about a degree of each other in Scorpio: a mind that goes straight to the heart of things, unafraid of hard truths and gifted at saying them beautifully. Mars in Scorpio adds a private, steady drive. For most of the day the Pisces Moon makes a soft trine to that whole cluster, so the intensity comes wrapped in empathy, imagination and an ear for mood.
Venus is in Capricorn, close to Uranus and sharing the sign with Saturn and Neptune. That suggests a love of craft and of what lasts, with an original streak that refuses to be ordinary. Jupiter in Cancer faces that Capricorn group from across the sky, rewarding care, closeness and emotional honesty.
A birth time would add the rising sign and the houses, the most personal layer of any chart. If 12:17 pm is right, it would put the rising sign in Aquarius, at about 3°, with the Pisces Moon in the 1st house. The Sun, Mercury, Mars and Pluto would all fall in the 9th house of travel, study and big ideas, under a Scorpio Midheaven.
Aquarius was climbing quickly at that hour, though. A birth about a quarter of an hour earlier would put the rising sign in Capricorn, so the exact minute matters a great deal. Until SZA confirms a time, this page treats 12:17 as the best lead available, not a settled fact.
