What's my moon sign?
Your moon sign is the zodiac sign the Moon was in when you were born. Where your sun sign describes how you shine, your Moon describes how you feel: what you need to feel safe, how you rest, and what you do when you're upset. Plenty of people find their moon sign describes them better than their sun sign does.
To find it, we need your birth date, place and, ideally, your time.
Why your Moon needs more than a date
The Moon is the fastest-moving thing in your chart. It crosses a whole sign in about two and a half days, roughly half a degree every hour. That's why sun sign lists are easy and moon sign lists don't exist: the Moon's sign depends on the hour you were born, and on where.
Without your birth time we work your chart out for midday and mark the Moon as approximate. On more than half of all days the Moon stays in one sign from midnight to midnight, so the answer is still right. On the rest it changes sign partway through the day. You can tell from the degree we show: if your Moon is within about seven degrees of either end of its sign, it could have been in the neighboring one. What the Moon shows in a chart
The Moon is the part of you that reacts before you think. It's how you were comforted as a child and how you comfort yourself now, what home needs to feel like, and the mood you fall back into when you're tired. It's also the part people only see once they know you well.
When your Sun and Moon are in signs that get along, what you want and what you need point the same way. When they clash, you feel pulled between them, and a lot of growing up is learning to give each one its turn.

Is my moon sign more important than my sun sign?
Neither is more important. The Sun is who you're becoming and the Moon is what you need along the way. Your rising sign is the third of the big three.
What's the rarest moon sign?
There isn't one. The Moon goes through all twelve signs every month, so over the years each moon sign comes up equally often.
How do I find my moon sign without my birth time?
