Pluto in Aquarius, 2024 to 2044

Pluto settled into Aquarius on 19 November 2024 and stays there until early 2044. It had tried twice before: a first step over the line in March 2023, a retreat that June, a second try in January 2024, another retreat that September. The third time it stayed.

Aquarius is the sign of the group, the network and the new idea. Pluto is the planet of power: who holds it, where it's hidden, and what happens when it changes hands. Put them together for twenty years and the question of the era is who controls the systems everyone now lives inside.

What it means for everyone

The last time Pluto was in Aquarius was roughly 1778 to 1798. That stretch covers the French Revolution, the early years of the United States as a working country, and the first factories. Astrologers point to it not to predict revolution but because the theme is the same: power moving out of old hands and into crowds, inventions and institutions nobody had built yet.

This time the obvious candidates are the internet's platforms and artificial intelligence: tools that are collective by nature and enormously powerful, still being argued over. On a smaller scale it shows up wherever people organise outside the usual channels: group chats, unions, mutual aid, fan communities with real pull.

What it means for you

Pluto passing through Aquarius touches everyone, but not in the same place. Whatever house Aquarius falls in for you is the part of your life getting the long, slow overhaul over these twenty years. If Aquarius sits on your 7th house, it's partnership. On your 2nd, money and what you value. If you have planets in Aquarius, especially in the first few degrees, Pluto crossing over them is the bigger story, and those years tend to stand out.

That's the bit a general article can't tell you, and your chart can.

Babies born with Pluto in Aquarius

Anyone born between late 2024 and early 2044 (plus a few months in 2023 and 2024) has Pluto in Aquarius. They're arriving into a world where machines talk back and being online is a given. Astrologers expect a generation that takes collective power for granted: comfortable building things together, less patient with hierarchy, and quick to notice who really owns the network they're standing on.
