You were told you were old for your age, and not always as a compliment. You organized the other children, took the rules seriously and noticed when the grown-ups weren't following theirs. Or you were given responsibility early and then criticized for liking control.

The anger here has a very specific target: incompetence in charge. A manager who doesn't know the job, a rule enforced by someone who breaks it, a system that rewards seniority over skill. You'll work twice as hard as anyone and then feel a cold fury when the credit or the title goes elsewhere. And you hate being told to relax by people who have never carried what you carry.

Wanting power, openly

The honest tension is that you've learned to hide your ambition or wrap it in duty. You say you're "just being responsible" when what you want is the top job. Or you swing the other way and hold everything so tightly that rest and pleasure feel like failures.

The power returns when you say what you want plainly: the promotion, the business in your own name, the final say over your own time. Desire works the same way. You're drawn to competence, you want respect in intimacy as much as at work, and you need a partner who doesn't feel threatened by your drive.
